Kensuke's Kingdom

This is the book we have chosen to work with year six students.
It is obviously the longest and most complicated story to read of all the stories we have seen here, but it is a fascinating story with huge potential.
This book can be used to work many different topics like history, biology, geography... and to do so in a way that is creative, engaging and satisfactory for our students. They can learn about different parts of the world (some may be familiar, others may be totally unknown to them, they can learn about turtles or sharks,we can make our own survival kit in case we are shipwrecked on a deserted island... There are numerous activities that can be developed from the things Michael has to go thrugh.
In our case, we have decided to make two triplines, one for the journey described in the story and another one with our ideal trip around the world. We have used tripline.net to make them:
