Fat Cat on a Mat

This is a very appropiate story to work with year one students because of its vocabulary and grammatical structures. It is mostly made up of short, one syllable words, so it is a good way to make children become aware of the different types of syllables.  

We can use this book to teach how to read easy, short words as well as some high frequency words.
